Clancy Emry is an elite, female, age-group, triathlete competing in local, region and national Olympic distance triathlons. Her goal is to qualify for the 2005 Team USA and World Triathlon Championships in Japan. After high school, Clancy accepted a full basketball scholarship to the University of San Francisco and then later transferred to California State University at Sacramento where she rowed Varsity crew for her junior and senior years. Clancy completed the California International Marathon through the Leukemia Society’s Team in Training program in 1997 and was hooked on endurance sports! A few days after completing the marathon, she watched a rebroadcast of the ’97 Hawaii Ironman Triathlon. She vividly remembers watching Heather Fuhr struggle and fight to victory and decided: “I want to do that”!! Clancy is currently competing at the Elite level in the Northern California Triathlon circuit against some of the best athletes in the USA, and Curve is very pleased to have her as one of our elite sponsored athletes.
